Fallout 3

Hey, I figured you guys will probably be able to figure this out. Whenever I'm playing fallout 3, after a certain period of time (sometimes short sometimes long) my fallout 3 game just slowly closes. Any ideas on what this might be: RAM (1GB), video card (8600 GTS 256mb), the actual game? I even turned the settings on low.

My guess would be overheating (either CPU or GPU) or/and faulty/overheating memory.

what do you mean by "slowly closes".... i play alot of fallout 3 and while i have experiances the occasional crash (bethesda... same issue with prepatched oblivion), i'm unsure what you mean?

Basically it lags pretty hard core and then the screen turns black and crashes to desktop. I put it in windowed mode however at 1024 res and I haven't had a crash since

im pretty sure its a game engine thing... when i "autodetect" it sets me to "ultra" quality, for shits and grin i set it for low, kep the resolution the same @ 1920*1200 and still get a random crash... i'll try the window'd and see how that runs... should still look ok @ 1688*1050
